Veröffentlicht: 20.03.2025

Full- or part-time | temporary (12 month) | Institute of Molecular Oncology and Functional Genomics

Our research is focused on gene discovery, functional gene annotation and signaling in cancer. We study biological processes, such as malignant transformation, tumour evolution, metastasis or drug response and resistance. See examples in: Nature 2018 Feb 1;554(7690):62, Nature Reviews Cancer 2020, Oct;20(10):573. Cancer Cell. 2023 Jul 10;41(7):1327; Nat Methods. 2024 Apr;21(4):584.

We develop and deploy genetic technologies and bioinformatics methods for high-throughput applications, such as genome-scale screening approaches using CRISPR or transposon systems. We are also running a sequencing facility and conduct translational studies using human samples or genetically engineered model organisms. Multidisciplinary teams of cancer biologists, mouse modelers, clinicians, molecular geneticists, sequencing experts and informatitians are working closely together in a highly creative environment.

We offer positions funded by the ERC in the research areas:

  • Genomic technology development – with a focus on functional genomic screening
  • Cancer genetics/biology, including CRISPR-based disease modelling in cells and organisms
  • Cellular signalling and cancer therapy

Your profile:

  • Strong background in molecular and cellular biology techniques
  • Experience with experimental design, data analysis, and scientific writing

We offer you:

  • EGYM well pass, corporate benefits and discounts (e.g. Käfer), cafeteria, sports and cultural offers, company bike
  • Free use of the library through a branch of the Munich City Library located in the building
  • Working in the heart of Munich at Max-Weber-Platz with very good accessibility by public transport such as the subway, S-Bahn or tram
  • Company pension plan through the Federal and State Pension Institute (VBL)
  • Self-realization through a varied and technically demanding job with interdisciplinary cooperation between various departments of the MRI

We look forward to your application!
