The 9th Cardiac Regeneration and Vascular Biology Conference is a hybrid event of the department Cardiology of the Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technical University Munich, conducted in cooperation with the Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich and the Venice International University from Oct 18-20, 2021. The intention of the announced meeting is to bring together basic scientists and translational scientists working in cardiovascular biology and medicine and focussing on regenerative treatment in cardiovascular medicine.

This is a joint meeting of the working groups on "Genetics and Molecular Biology of Cardiovascular Diseases" and "Vascular Biology" of the German Society for Cardiology (DGK). This particular meeting brings together researchers of the Graduate School IRTG1123 Coordinators Sabine Steffens and Catherine Gunzci (LMU Munich), the Collaborative Research Center SFB1123 (Christian Weber) as well as the Consortium X-Kingdom MIF (Jürgen Bernhagen, LMU Munich; Ralph Panstruga, RWTH Aachen University).

These contributions foster the ambition to track novel scientific developments in key areas of vascular growth and inflammation (atherosclerosis) and frontier therapeutics of cardiac diseases. Dedicated sessions will address tissue engineering, treatment of structural heart disease, and clinical trials. With respect to the translational research the future-orientated approaches for RNAi therapy applicable to treat pathalogical changes of the heart is part of the conference agenda.
